I recently travelled to Bend Oregon with my wife and my mother.
My father passed away recently and this trip was a chance for us all to get away and just be together.
The pacific northwest has a healing quality. It’s so serene and beautiful.
We’ve also been considering moving back to Oregon, so we wanted to check out Bend.
It was a healing trip, but also a trip about the future.
We spent most of our time hanging out with friends, eating great food, drinking IPA’s and spending time in nature.

As with any experience in life, you learn things. Here are 3 things I learned on this trip.
1. Success is about focus and drive.
Dale Partridge is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader. He has mobilized concepts and delivered big impact.
After spending a few hours with him, you see exactly why.
Nothing to do with privilege or secret tips for success. It’s all drive and vision.
It was inspirational to see how Dale has an audacious vision for pursuing his dreams. It challenged me to re-focus and raise my intensity level.
2. I want to leave a legacy in a rural area.
Spending time on the American Frontier is amazing. The sights are beautiful and the atmosphere is serene.
Being in Nature this beautiful is a spiritual experience.
Eventually Paige and I are going to settle down outside of a big city. Central Oregon may or may not be that place, but I do know that it’s going to be rural and we’re going to want land.
Paige and I agree that raising children away from big cities is what we’d like to do.
3. Bend Oregon is an amazing town.
Did I mention the IPA’s. This small western town is as close to a Utopia as i’ve ever seen.
The natural beauty acts as backdrop for this well educated and entrepreneurial city.
There is no doubt that Bend will continue to grow, as more and more people are attracted to it’s small town charm.
The best outdoor activities, of almost anywhere in the world, along with the charming town make Bend pretty irresistable. I’m quite sure it won’t be long before I find myself in Bend Oregon again.
Here are a couple more pics from our trip.
